Lincoln, 1847 Back: Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. The Congress of the United States on May 23, 1958 conferred the same status as U.S. Veterans in Public Law 85-425. Thus when local government, parade organizers, cemetery officials, or distraught malinformed citizens forbid Confederate Flags, they disrespect American History, the U.S. Congress, Public Law 85-425, and Article 1 of the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution, and become the chief enforcers of their own ignorance.
