This was written to tell the story of who the Covenanters were and to describe their heroic and sacrificial stand for the freedom of religion and worship. Much of the freedoms that are enjoyed by Western nationals today can be traced back to the costly and brave stance of the Covenanters as they opposed the political interference of the government in the affairs of the church. Mostly forgotten by Christians today, the Covenanters suffered and died for the freedom of God to worship as the Bible Taught, despite the intrusion of the English monarchs. About the author: Matthew Shipley is a Retired Navy SEAL Commander, Constitutional Scholar, and holds a Masters of Theological Studies with a Biblical Studies concentration from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
