Much like our exclusive Copperhead Lapel Pin, this belt buckle pays tribute to the Northern "Copperheads"—those who sympathized with the Southern Confederacy or opposed the policies of the Lincoln Administration during the War Between the States. Many Copperheads wore a Liberty Head copper penny as a quiet symbol of their convictions, and that historic emblem is prominently featured at the center of this buckle. Thousands of Copperheads were imprisoned for speaking out against the Lincoln Administration.
