With a history that is tightly interwoven with that of the American Civil War, Luray, and Page County, Virginia, have long been involved as a partner of the Virginia Civil War Trails Program and as a part of the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District. As a part of the wonderful tapestry that is the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War, Avenue of Armies offers a glimpse into the past through thirteen tours; each offering different stories in over 70 different historic sites, building, and roadways that are woven together to form a unique historic experience.
