The 11 star First National flag was a used from July 2, 1861 until it was replaced by the 13 Star First National. The stars are representative of the 11 states which seceded from the union: South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The flag may also be seen with 7 Stars.
