When virtue is permitted to flee the human heart, even momentarily, seeds of doubt will be planted. Man was given a perfect world with the liberty of stewardship to oversee all creation. There was only one restriction placed upon his freedom. He was not to partake of the knowledge of good and evil under penalty of death. Once man violated that one rule he then failed to accept personal responsibility for his actions. This resulted in the allowance of evil into a perfect creation, thus marring creation and necessitating the establishment of law and human government. As man continued to abuse his liberty, human governments continued to restrict

his freedom. It seems that the same men lacking virtue occupied position of authority, causing war, tyranny and human misery. God’s simple answer was to send His Son to remedy once and for all the loss of relationship suffered by the lack of personal responsibility. Jesus Christ became our substitute, suffered our punishment and defeated our enemies so that we through Him might have life. “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16 you must exercise virtue and personal responsibility to claim His free gift which is the peace and joy you have been seeking.
