We like to think of these as the Monument Avenue Challenge Coin series…

This is the 5th coin in the collector’s series, dedicated to President Jefferson Davis’ beautiful monument which was forcibly removed in 2020.

On this commemorative coin, the front pictures the iconic Jefferson Davis statue in its entirety, with the date when it was erected (1907) and then removed (2020). The back features the Great Seal of the Confederacy and overlayed is the centerpiece of the actual monument which is a close-up of Jefferson Davis himself. 

Since the destruction of Monument Avenue began, our motto has been, Though they tear down, we will raise back up.
