Description

On January 25, 1839 the Republic of Texas adopted the flag that it still uses to this day. The “Lone Star Flag,” as many call it, got its name from the single white star in its canton, which is derived from the Bonnie Blue flag (used in the original Republic from 1836-1839). This single star represents sovereignty, while the blue stands for loyalty and the red for bravery.
