Originally entitled, Exposition of the Views of the Baptists, Relative to the Coloured Population in the United States in Communication to the Governor of South Carolina. Here is a Scriptural justification of slavery and demonstration of Abolitionist fanaticism by Furman in light of historic events. Furman was a patriot in the First War for Independence with a price on his head by the British.
