Freedom
Exemption from imposed restrictions. While Liberty is God given, Freedom is man given. A young child is instructed he must not play in the busy street. When left alone for a brief moment he experiences the liberty of choosing to go or not to go into the street while searching his knowledge for the instruction that his mom has forbidden him the freedom of playing in the street. Even in totalitarian governments, citizens are granted certain freedoms if for no other reason than to alleviate restlessness and aid trivial preoccupation, thus alleviating the expense of their own oppression. The old adage, “freedom isn’t free” is correct when you realize that the government who grants you certain freedoms requires compliance and tribute in return and may just as easily deny that freedom tomorrow. Approval of government granted “freedoms” contrary to God’s Law and man’s liberty is never a good idea.
