Webster says that it is confidence in hope. Scripture states in Hebrews 11:3, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence (confidence) of things not seen.” Faith is an absolute requirement for the function of society. One has faith that tomorrow morning upon wake-up there will be air to breath and sunrise to begin the day. It is the ignition that causes you to go to work Monday morning. Faith requires your belief that your bank upon deposit will honor your payroll check. Most of what you do in the course of your day requires faith whether you realize it or not. Your lack of realization in no way diminishes the faith involved in daily tasks. The theory of evolution requires faith that the unproven theory may someday be proven in spite of evidence to the contrary. The theory of Marxist rule requires faith that their principles are true and achievable in spite of the millions who perished under its yoke. Just as the uniformed vote for a demagogue, require faith that he will deliver as promised.  Sincerity does not challenge faith, as you may be sincerely wrong. Faith is your belief; misplaced faith is the destroyer of civilizations. Placing your faith in mankind and its systems inevitably leads to misery and tyranny.
